Bernard Cassière: Make-Up removers/ Cleansers. Here are a few examples of misunderstandings about cleansing the skin:
"I use a makeup remover so don't need any cleanser."
"I cleanse my skin at night, so I don't have to do it in the morning"
"I never wear make-up so series is not for me".
WHY CLEANSER? Cleaning the skin is a fundamental need that helps to keep the skin healthy and beautiful for longer. Cleansing the skin should be a twice daily routine, morning AND evening, separate from the make-up removal phase, which is completed in the evening for women who wear make-up.
Cleaning the skin in the evening removes sebum, dust, pollution, and anything that prevents the pores from breathing by clogging them. Why in the morning? Because even at night, the skin sweats, secretes sebum and absorbs impurities and dust through the pillowcase and sheets.
While make-up removal is mainly about removing traces of make-up and the impurities that are attached to it during the day, cleansing the skin is concerned with removing residues of dust, pollution, substances secreted by the cells, and even residues from other cosmetics such as our creams, or dead skin cells. So it is essential to combine both and not neglect any step to keep your complexion fresh and your skin healthy. Finally, as a first step or first beauty gesture, it prepares the skin for our day or night treatments to optimize its benefits, and prevents skin aging.
WHAT IS A GOOD CLEANER?
A good cleaner should be a care product. Which respects the physiology (PH value) and the hydrolipidic film (fatty film) of the skin : Therefore, and especially if you have sensitive skin, it is advisable to choose cleansers that are free from sulphates* (substances that cause foam), which contain few surfactants or that contain soft surfactants, to minimize the risks of intolerance and dehydration of the skin due to changes in the hydrolipidic film (moisture balance and fat layer).
It should make you happy! Whether it's a mousse, gel, cream or even powder texture, there's something for everyone to turn this moment in the bathroom into a cocooning moment!
